State Fair

Well, My husband and I took the girls to the State Fair this past week and we had a lot of fun considering that the girls are so young! The eldest was able to ride 4 -wow! FOUR!- rides. That is a big deal for such a little girl of two! Here is a picture that I was able to get of them.

What happened?

Humph! This blogging thing is just one more thing that I have to learn in the technological wonderland that is the world wide web!
For all of those of you who know me and had the first experience of seeing my website, I hope that you will enjoy this new and "livened" up version even better. I had an epiphany the other day: If I am going to make this business work, I must be willing to put myself into it. I cannot be stuck in the commercial portrait studio slump. I must get out and experiment with light, color, and relationships. I am going to try very hard to showcase people where they live, in their environment. I have visions of bold colors and editorial type images of a family in their house. Garden portraits are beautiful and fun but I must allow people to be who they are and help them to celebrate their own individuality. And in order to do that with any success I must do it for myself.
So, hopefully, you will notice a difference in my marketing style, my relationships with friends, family and clients, and most importantly I hope that you notice a difference in my level of customer service. I will strive to make you comfortable in your own skin and circumstance. Celebrate every stage in your life, we cannot progress without appreciation for the present.
What I am thankful for today: a loving family that supports me and believes in me. Thank you to my wonderful aunt and grandmother for taking care of my angels while I am at work, I know they are in safe hands.

I have started

Well, This is It! My first "blog". I am actually really excited about it. As many of you know I have a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy, so this blog is the closest I will ever come to being a "professional Philosopher." So may my words live on, long after I am gone and may students of all ages study the lessons that I teach with the most sincerity and attention.
With that being said... Sunday was my first "Senior Portraits" shoot and I think that it went really well. I will have some pictures posted soon so that all of you may see my lovely sister-in-law, Elena.
On a more personal level... I am planning my daughter's second birthday party. I am looking for Abby Cadabby birthday cakes. I am thinking of a pull-a-part cake made with cupcakes. If you are a great icing artist please let me know. I will bake the cupcakes if you will decorate the cake.?...
One lesson that I learned today... Never underestimate the language skills of a toddler. They are certainly listening to and repeating everything you say!!!!
